Who is Jesus?
The Bible says in John 1:1-14, that Jesus was God, was with God, and Jesus
became a man like you and I. Jesus lived on the earth for about 33 years and He
then voluntarily gave up His life to die on a cross for you and me (Romans 5:8).
On the third day after Jesus died he had victory over death and the grave by
rising from the dead (Romans 4:25). The Bible also says that Jesus is preparing
a place for those who believe on His name and have a personal relationship with
Him (John 14:3).
Why did Jesus Die? It all started back in the Garden of Eden, when Adam and Eve
decided to do something that God told them not to do. Sin is why Jesus gave up
His life. The Bible says that everyone sins (Romans 3:23). God is not pleased
with our sin, and there is punishment due for the sins we commit (Romans 6:23).
The Bible says we cannot save ourselves from our sin (Ephesians 2:9). God gave
His son Jesus to be the ultimate sacrifice for all our sins (John 3:16, Isaiah
53:6). Jesus is the only way (John 14:6).
How can I have a personal relationship with Jesus? It's as simple as ABC… A -
Admit to God that you are a sinner. Know that you cannot save yourself. B -
Believe that Jesus died on the cross for you and me. Trust Jesus to save you. C
- Commit your life to Jesus in word and action. Give Him control of your life.
Last ask God to save you. Romans 10:13 say's "Whoever shall call upon the name
of the Lord shall be saved."
Pray a prayer similar to this: God, I know that I have sinned and that it
separates me from You. I repent of my sins. I believe that Jesus died on the
cross for me so my sin can be forgiven. I believe Jesus rose from the dead and
is alive. God please forgive me. I ask Jesus to come into my life and be my
savior and Lord. I will obey and live for you for the rest of my life. Thank
you. Amen.
What's next if I just prayed that prayer? There are a few things that you need
to know now that you're a Christian: Your new life is permanent. You cannot lose
your salvation (John 10:28-30). Read your Bible. Get into God's word and read it
daily (1 Peter 2:2-3). Pray. Talk and Listen to God. Ask Him to forgive you of
your sins and help you (1 John 1:9). Come to church. Fellowship with other
Christians and grow spiritually (Acts 2:41-47). Get Baptized.
Baptism tells the church about your new decision to become a Christian. Tell
somebody! Share what happened to you with someone else. If you have any other
question about Jesus or if you prayed the prayer above
Let Us Know and we will
try and answer any more questions about our Lord and Savior.
